Last week I listed four things the Panthers defense needed to do in order to slow down the Saints high powered offense. The Panthers accomplished none of those things en route to being demolished by an 0-2 team in front of the Charlotte home crowd Colin Jones Jersey. The defense missed copious amounts of tackles, generated no pressure on the quarterback, experienced numerous breakdowns in coverage, and were severely out-coached. They did just about everything wrong. Things don’t get any easier this Sunday. The Panthers travel to New England to face the league’s best offense headed by the best head coach quarterback combo in NFL history https://www.carolinapanthersgearstore.com/Derek_Anderson_Jersey. Rumors of Tom Brady’s demise were greatly exaggerated. It seems like it’s become a yearly conversation at this point. Is Tom Brady done? Is this the year where he becomes too old to be good? After his week 1 performance against the Chiefs, many thought that to be the case. They were incorrect. Over his last two games, the future Hall of Fame quarterback has completed 74 of his 74 pass attempts for 825 yards and 8 touchdowns all while not throwing a single interception. That’s good. It’s a big reason why the Patriots boast the league’s best offense, and it’s not even close. The teams 440.7 yard per game average is over 40 yards better than the league’s next best offense and their average of 33 points per game is second only to the Rams somehow. The Panthers defense has its hands full this week https://www.carolinapanthersgearstore.com/Zach_Moore_Jersey, even more full than last week. Last week they dropped the ball. This is what they need to hopefully not be terribleChange things up. Bill Belichick will go down as arguably the best coach of all time. You don’t get that distinction without being a master tactician. The Patriots are the best in the league at adjusting their game plans to exploit their opponent’s tendencies and attack their weaknesses. Last week we saw Steve Wilks’ game plan completely torn to shreds by a similarly revered offensive game planning duo. The rookie defensive coordinator will need to add some new wrinkles to the defense that the Patriots haven’t been able to study.Stop the running backs in the passing game, hope they hand it off too much. Mike Gillislee signed on over the offseason to be the team’s workhorse back and has struggled in that role. As a team, the Patriots are only averaging 3.6 yards per carry. We like that. However, we know how much Tawm and Billy like to get their backs involved in the passing game if the defense leaves the underneath open Dan France Jersey. We like to leave the underneath open. That could be a problem. Don’t get beat by the deep ball. The Patriots have built a reputation for being the league’s best dink and dunk offense. That hasn’t been the case this season. Tom Brady leads the league in both air yards per pass attempt and air yards per completion. Chris Hogan and Brandin Cooks are premier deep threats; both caught touchdowns of over 40 yards against the Texans. The Panthers allowed Ted Ginn to get behind them for a deep touchdown last week. They can’t let that happen again.
